Pharmacy
Boscobel Area Health Care Pharmacy provides pharmacy services for individual patients of the acute care hospital, emergency room and mental health unit. Services are also provided for walk-in care and our outpatient clinics.
Normal pharmacy hours of operation are 7:30 am - 4 pm weekdays and 8 am - noon on weekends and holidays. A pharmacist is available on-call at all other times for questions and emergencies.
A pharmacist is available during normal business hours for medication related questions at 608-375-6307.
Pharmacy services include:
- Efficient medication distribution systems
- Intravenous admixture preparation including total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and cancer chemotherapy.
- Medication reconciliation - compiling accurate patient medication lists for patient safety and continuity of care
- Med Minder Program - a tool to help patients keep an up-to-date record of medications they are taking
- Drug information/education for patients and staff
- Multidisciplinary quality assurance programs
- Quality medication management: dosing based on renal function, allergy checking, drug-drug interaction checking
