BAHC welcomes new medical provider

Jeanne Tobin (Kretschman), PA-C

Jeanne Tobin (Kretschman), PA-C, began at Boscobel Area Health Care on September 1st. Tobin will see patients at Fennimore Family Practice in Fennimore, Riverside Family Practice in Muscoda, and Bluff Street Clinic in Boscobel.

"I am looking forward to providing medical care in my hometown," says Jeanne, who was born at Boscobel Area Health Care and is a graduate of Fennimore High School. Tobin plans to take her 13 years of experience in medical care and her love and knowledge of a small town to make a difference in the communities she works.

Tobin said she went into healthcare because she was very sick as a child and understands the importance good health plays in a person's life. "As early as the age of six weeks I was making regular trips to UW-Madison," she says. "I know how important it is to have a trusting relationship with your medical provider."

Tobin has seen a wide variety of patients in her healthcare career. "A physician assistant's training is very broad - everything from newborns to geriatrics."

"I really enjoy the variety that Family Practice offers and the opportunity to treat the whole patient. The bond between patient and primary care provider is truly unique and very rewarding," Tobin explained.

Tobin is also passionate about proper diabetic care. "I have a close family member affected by diabetes. Maintaining control of her diabetes makes a big difference in her quality of life and prevents serious complications."

Tobin, like the other primary care providers at Boscobel Area Health Care, will work at multiple clinics on a rotating schedule. She will see patients in Fennimore on Mondays, in Muscoda on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and in Boscobel on Fridays.

Tobin will also offer extended hours in Fennimore and Muscoda, seeing patients until 6:30 p.m. during her scheduled days.

"Extended hours give our patients more choices in primary care. Parents have more flexibility in scheduling their children's appointments, and don't have to pull them out of school or co-curricular activities for appointments," says Community Relations Coordinator Mary Sprosty.
