Dr. Richard Rogers named interim administrator for BAHC

Dr. Richard (Dick) Rogers, former Boscobel Area Health Care board member, will serve as the interim administrator for Boscobel Area Health Care. BAHC is currently recruiting a new administrator to replace John Russell, who announced his resignation this month.

"Dr. Rogers's management experience is diverse and extensive," said BAHC Board President Jerry Berge. "He knows the community, knows the industry, and knows our facility. We are very excited to have him lead our team."

Rogers's business experience includes large and small organizations, community development boards, and government. Rogers was the President of Southwest Technical College in Fennimore from 1988-1999, Mayor of Fennimore from 2000 to 2006, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Livingston State Bank in Platteville.

Dr. Rogers served nine years on the BAHC Board of Directors, the maximum number of years an individual can hold a board seat. He vacated his position in January, and will be eligible to return to the board in 2012. His leadership on the board earned him the 2009 Trustee Award from the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

As a board member, Dr. Rogers has been part of many positive changes at Boscobel Area Health Care. Rogers was on the board when the hospital obtained critical access status in 2004, and when the new emergency room and specialty center opened in 2008. Rogers is also the President of the BAHC Foundation.

Rogers's involvement in healthcare governance spans a lifetime. He has served on several other hospital boards, including hospitals in Florida and Colorado. "I have made a lifetime commitment to healthcare," said Rogers.

Current Administrator John Russell will vacate his position on April 15th. "There is a peace of mind in having Dr. Rogers here in the interim. He already has extensive knowledge of our facility, and knows most of our team members. He offers consistency in management that will allow our progress to continue to move forward."
