BAHC Welcomes New ER Director

Boscobel Area Health Care welcomes Dr. Christine Langemo, new Emergency Room Director. Dr. Langemo began her position on April 1, 2010.

Dr. Langemo is one of several physicians selected to provide services for Boscobel Area Health Care's emergency room. Dr. Langemo's team includes Dr. Paul Mariskanish, Dr. Aldred Neuhoff, and Dr. Kurt Wilhelm. In addition, BAHC has credentialed five physicians to provide back up coverage.

Primary care physicians will continue to see patients in the clinics and hospital as they have in the past. Dr. Langemo and her physician team will provide emergency room and walk in care coverage in the new Parker Street addition. They will provide hospital services as needed.

Dr. Langemo has been a physician for 23 years, specializing in emergency medicine. "I began emergency medicine right after completing my family practice residency," she said. She has worked in Wisconsin facilities, including Edgerton this past year and Monroe for the last 18 years. "I was raised in a small community and enjoy providing care in small communities," said Langemo.

Prior to beginning her ER director position, Dr. Langemo had the opportunity to work in BAHC's emergency room and meet some of the team. "I am very impressed with the personnel, equipment, and facility in Boscobel. There is more here than people realize."

Boscobel Area Health Care has been working with Emergency Consultant Inc to recruit physicians for the emergency room. ECI is a private company that provides physician services to several Wisconsin hospitals, including Edgerton. ECI has an exceptional record of quality outcomes and patient satisfaction scores.

ECI will provide physician staffing for BAHC's emergency room. Other ER and Hospital services, including nursing, lab, admissions, medical records, pharmacy, and billing will continue to be provided by BAHC. Boscobel Area Health Care retains ownership and control over the emergency department, and has developed a relationship with each physician who will be in the emergency room.

"Our relationship with ECI and each of the new physicians has been very positive. We are happy to welcome these additional doctors to the BAHC team," said Boscobel Area Health Care Administrator John Russell.
