Boscobel Rescue Squad 50th Anniversary
Boscobel Rescue Squad will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a public celebration on Saturday, May 16th at the Boscobel Fire Station. The event will include a health fair, bicycle safety course, bike helmet fitting, car seat checks, and a hog roast at noon. Read full article.
Open House at Riverside Clinic
Riverside Family Practice will hold an open house on March 26th from 4:00 to 6:00 for the public to meet Jeanne Tobin, PA-C. The open house will include refreshments, blood pressure checks, BMI and Body Fat Composition screenings, and educational literature about nutrition and preventative screenings. Read full article.
BAHC welcomes new surgery nurse manager
Boscobel Area Health Care welcomed Gretchen Graham as their new Surgery Nurse Manager last month.
Graham works closely with BAHC's surgeons, including general surgeons Dr. James Yurcek and Dr. Chris Hugo, and the visiting specialty surgeons. Read full article.
Support available to quit smoking
Boscobel Area Health Care is offering a "Freedom from Smoking" clinic, beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2009. The seven-week cessation program provides the education, counseling, and support needed to break the nicotine addiction. Read full article
Faust recognized for 50 years of service
The Boscobel Area Health Care Board of Directors recognized Sharon Faust at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, January 27th. Faust will celebrate her 50th year at Boscobel Area Health Care in June of 2009, and she was recognized for her outstanding employment record. Read full article.
Heart to Heart Reunion
Boscobel Area Health Care invites past and present cardiac rehabilitation patients to celebrate their recovery on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Heart to Heart Reunion. The reunion will be an open house format from Noon to 4:00 p.m., with free health screenings, educational displays, and presentations. Pharmacist to travel to Panama for medical mission
Doug Knoble, a pharmacist at Boscobel Area Health Care, will be joining a team of medical professionals on a medical and Christian mission trip to Panama, where they will serve the Guyami people in the village of Ola. The group will be leaving January 5, 2009 and is asking for support in providing necessary medical supplies. Read full article.
Disaster drill tests hospital's ability to respond to influx of patients
Boscobel Area Health Care tested its new emergency room with a full-scale disaster drill on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. The purpose of the drill was to test the facility's emergency preparedness plan and the new fixed decontamination area in the emergency department.Read full article.
Boscobel students attend medical exploration day
Boscobel Area Health Care sponsored three students to attend the Medical Exploration Day at UW-Platteville on November 8, 2008. Seniors Jodie Haney and Jeremiah Dilley and Freshman Brittnie Peer spent the day learning about different medical professions, including pharmacy, nursing, lab technician, physician assistant, physical therapist, optometrist, dentist, and chiropractor. Boscobel Area Health Care will have social workers available at the Grant County Fair to help individuals complete advance directives. This important service is free of charge and available to anyone over 18 years of age. Read full article.

Memory walk to raise awareness, funds for Alzheimer's education
Boscobel Area Health Care has joined forces with the Grant County Alzheimer's Association to raise money to support individuals with Alzheimer's and their families. BAHC is a gold sponsor and one of 25 teams that will participate in the Grant County Memory Walk on September 13, 2008 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregation Church in Lancaster. Nursing home residents raise money for flood relief
Residents at Boscobel Area Health Care’s nursing home held a bake and craft sale to raise money for local flood relief efforts. Employees and resident family members also donated items to the sale. Read full article.
New addition opens May 28
The much awaited and talked about expansion will open its doors to patients May 28th. The building includes a new emergency center will a large trauma area, additional exam rooms, centralized nurses' station, a new helipad, a double ambulance garage, and indoor decontamination unit. The new nurses' station is centralized to allow access to the trauma area, exam rooms, medication room, walk-in care clinics, and specialist center. Read full article.

Riverdale students take virtual tour of body during the "Body Walk"
Boscobel Area Health Care and Riverdale Elementary School teamed up to take students K-12 on an virtual adventure through the human body. Students entered the gym by crawling through a model of the mouth, continuing through the esophagus, the stomach, intestines, bones, muscles, heart, and lungs.
