Heart to Heart Reunion
Boscobel Area Health Care invites past and present cardiac rehabilitation patients to celebrate their recovery on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Heart to Heart Reunion.
The reunion will be an open house format from Noon to 4:00 p.m., with free health screenings, educational displays, and presentations. Cardiologist Dr. John Moses will speak at 2:00 about "Life after Heart Disease."
"Recovering from a heart procedure involves major life changes. I am very proud of the work my patients do every day to improve their health, and am excited to celebrate with them," said Theresa Braudt, Cardiac Rehab Nurse Manager for Boscobel Area Health Care.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation program involves monitored exercise, education, and nutrition counseling for patients who have had a heart procedure or have been diagnosed with heart disease.
The Heart to Heart Reunion will celebrate patients' recovery, but also provide education on maintaining their health. "We have done a lot of community education in the past year on preventing heart disease and recognizing signs of a heart attack. This is different because these individuals have already been diagnosed with a condition. The education at the Heart to Heart reunion will focus on preventing relapse and improving patients' quality of life," said Braudt.
