Local healthcare advocates attend WHA Advocacy Day

Community Health Needs Assessment
Boscobel Area Health Care is combining resources with other area health care services to conduct Community Health Care Needs Assessment across all of Grant County by collecting and analyzing data and soliciting community input. The results will be used to develop strategies to address the prioritized needs, with the goal of contributing to improvements in the communities' overall health. Read full article

Boscobel Area Health Care invites past and present cardiac rehabilitation patients to celebrate their recovery on Friday, February 17th, at the Heart to Heart Reunion. Alumni Basketball Tournament - March 24, 2012
The Fourth Annual Boscobel Alumni Basketball Tournament fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 24th at the Boscobel High School. The one-day fundraising event is sponsored by the Boys Basketball Club, Bulldog Blast Girls Basketball Club, and Boscobel Area Health Care Foundation. BAHC Annual Meeting scheduled for January 24th
Boscobel Area Health Care (BAHC) will hold the annual meeting of the association on January 24, 2011 in the facility's cafeteria, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the annual meeting is to share with the community progress made during the past year, elect members to the board, and provide an opportunity for public input. The board election will include three seats. Current Board Members Linda Mezera and Maria O'Connor Miles are both up for election; Dr. Kurt Wilhelm has applied for the medical staff board seat. Scholarship applications available
The Boscobel Area Health Care Board of Directors Scholarship, the BAHC Partners Scholarship and the Slaman Family Scholarship application forms are available for students interested in pursuing a career in health care. Each scholarship will be paid directly to the student upon successful completion of the first semester of post-high school study, verification of enrollment for the second semester and proof of required GPA. Unique Service Offers Hope to Heart Patients
Boscobel Area Health Care announced the availability of a new procedure for relieving angina pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, and other symptoms associated with coronary artery disease called Enhanced External Counterpulsation therapy (EECP®). The painless, non-invasive procedure is designed to improve blood flow to the heart and is administered on an outpatient basis for seven weeks. Read full article

Two Nurse Practitioners Welcomed to BAHC
Boscobel Area Health Care welcomes Tammy Plondke, APNP, and Nicole Schopf, APNP, to their medical staff. Plondke will provide primary care for patients at Riverside Family Practice in Muscoda, and Schopf will provide primary care for patients at Bluff Street Clinic in Boscobel. BAHC now offering Digital Mammography
Boscobel Area Health Care will celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with new, state-of-the art digital mammography technology. The new mammography machine was purchased in August to ensure patients at Boscobel Area Health Care continue to have access to the latest technology and best possible preventive resources, said Radiology Manager Rita Ferrie. Dr. Richard Rogers named interim administrator for BAHC
Dr. Richard (Dick) Rogers, former Boscobel Area Health Care board member, will serve as the interim administrator for Boscobel Area Health Care. BAHC is currently recruiting a new administrator to replace John Russell, who announced his resignation this month. Read full article
Red Cross teddy bears connect blood donors with recipient
"Every person who receives blood this week will get a teddy bear with a personal message from the blood donor," says Lab Manager Judy Dayton. "Its inspiring to see the intent of the donor, matched with the gratefulness of the patient. It's a heart-warming cycle." Read full article
