Strengthening Families class in Boscobel
Strengthening Families, a nationally renowned program designed for parents of teens, will be offered in Boscobel. The seven session class begins October 14th, and will be held every Tuesday through November 18th at Boscobel Schools. There is no cost to participate.This session is sponsored by the Grant and Crawford UW-Extension, S.A.F.E. Memory walk to raise awareness, funds for Alzheimer's education
Boscobel Area Health Care has joined forces with the Grant County Alzheimer's Association to raise money to support individuals with Alzheimer's and their families. BAHC is a gold sponsor and one of 25 teams that will participate in the Grant County Memory Walk on September 13, 2008 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregation Church in Lancaster. Nursing home residents raise money for flood relief
Residents at Boscobel Area Health Care’s nursing home held a bake and craft sale to raise money for local flood relief efforts. Employees and resident family members also donated items to the sale. Read full article.
New addition opens May 28
The much awaited and talked about expansion will open its doors to patients May 28th. The building includes a new emergency center will a large trauma area, additional exam rooms, centralized nurses' station, a new helipad, a double ambulance garage, and indoor decontamination unit. The new nurses' station is centralized to allow access to the trauma area, exam rooms, medication room, walk-in care clinics, and specialist center. Read full article.
BAHC honors EMS volunteers at annual dinner
Boscobel Area Health Care will hold their annual EMS Recognition Dinner on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, as part of National EMS Week. BAHC has partnered with the South Central Regional Trauma Advisory Council (SCRTAC) to offer trauma education training. Read full article.
Nurse honored at State banquet
Theresa Braudt, RN, Cardio-Pulmonary Coordinator is the winner of the 2008 Wisconsin Hospital Association Pride Contest. Braudt's essay on why she is proud to work in healthcare was printed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA), along with 75 other health care employees. Read full article.

More than 75 people signed up to support rural healthcare at the Boscobel Area Health Care Partners membership drive. President Patsy Pippin says they have already exceeded last year's membership of 55 active members, and still have memberships coming in. Read full article.
Open house will allow public to see hospital expansion prior to opening
Boscobel Area Health Care is inviting the public for a sneak preview of their new addition during an Open House, Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, 2008. Saturday will include a health fair; Sunday will feature physician speakers Dr. Moses and Dr. Yurcek. Both days will include free health screenings and guided tours of the facility. Expanding to Meet Your Needs
Boscobel Area Health Care is expanding to meet the medical needs of the community. An April grand opening is set for the10,000 square addition that will feature state-of-the-art technology and allow increased space for services. The new addition will serve primarily as a new emergency room and walk-in care clinic, but will also feature clinic space for visiting specialists, expanded waiting areas, and a central registration station. More than 300 people came to the 14th Annual Family Safety Night held March 14, 2008, to learn about a variety of health and wellness topics, ranging from hunting safety to sports injury prevention. Read full article.
Riverdale students take virtual tour of body during the "Body Walk"
Boscobel Area Health Care and Riverdale Elementary School teamed up to take students K-12 on an virtual adventure through the human body. Students entered the gym by crawling through a model of the mouth, continuing through the esophagus, the stomach, intestines, bones, muscles, heart, and lungs. At each station, community members and BAHC employees talked about how to keep your body healthy. Read full article.
New surgeon joins BAHC Healthcare Team
A new physician was recently welcomed aboard the BAHC surgical team. Dr. Chris Hugo joins two other general surgeons, Dr. Roger Rademacher and Dr. James Yurcek, and a team of specialty surgeons, to enhance surgical procedures offered at BAHC. Read full article.

Boscobel Area Health Care Pharmacy Director Doug Knoble will have a three-minute segment on the nationally televised MDTV show on Fox 47. The episode will explore the dangers of medication errors among the elderly, and what healthcare organizations are doing to prevent medication-related accidents. Read full article
