Support available to quit smoking
Boscobel Area Health Care is offering a "Freedom from Smoking" clinic, beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2009. The seven-week cessation program provides the education, counseling, and support needed to break the nicotine addiction. Read full article
Pharmacist to travel to Panama for medical mission
Doug Knoble, a pharmacist at Boscobel Area Health Care, will be joining a team of medical professionals on a medical and Christian mission trip to Panama, where they will serve the Guyami people in the village of Ola. The group will be leaving January 5, 2009 and is asking for support in providing necessary medical supplies. Read full article.
BAHC Foundation annual appeal fund drive
The BAHC Foundation is a non-profit group comprised of volunteers dedicated to securing gifts to assist Boscobel Area Health Care meet the healthcare needs of the community. Recent projects have included remodeling, purchasing equipment, and providing scholarships to high school students. The Foundation, which has focused on the Capital Campaign the past two years, has returned to the Annual Appeal this year. Disaster drill tests hospital's ability to respond to influx of patients
Boscobel Area Health Care tested its new emergency room with a full-scale disaster drill on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. The purpose of the drill was to test the facility's emergency preparedness plan and the new fixed decontamination area in the emergency department.Read full article.
Boscobel students attend medical exploration day
Boscobel Area Health Care sponsored three students to attend the Medical Exploration Day at UW-Platteville on November 8, 2008. Seniors Jodie Haney and Jeremiah Dilley and Freshman Brittnie Peer spent the day learning about different medical professions, including pharmacy, nursing, lab technician, physician assistant, physical therapist, optometrist, dentist, and chiropractor. Three part series for families that provides information on Alzheimer's disease, and caring for a family member affected by the disease. Jeanne Tobin (Kretschman), PA-C, began at Boscobel Area Health Care on September 1st. Tobin will see patients at Fennimore Family Practice in Fennimore, Riverside Family Practice in Muscoda, and Bluff Street Clinic in Boscobel. Read full article.

Boscobel Area Health Care will have social workers available at the Grant County Fair to help individuals complete advance directives. This important service is free of charge and available to anyone over 18 years of age. Read full article.
